THOUGHT/QUOTE OF THE WEEK:

Character is revealed in little things –
like who you are when no one is watching.

THIS WEEK...

I’m still dragging as I know most of you are, from our fantastic Pepper Festival weekend.  Thanks to all of you for your hard work in making this year’s Pepper Festival the success that it is.  Peggy and Jean tell me that we deposited over $11,000.00 on festival night.  We have bills to pay and sponsorships to add so the final numbers may take a while.

Thank you, dear Lord, for the wonderful weather that we had for our festival.  It was awesome. And the crowds kept pouring in all afternoon.

Larry conducted his second meeting as President this week.  His attorney, Ben Breaux, is sitting at his right hand, always willing to lend advice, but not without a price!!  Larry passed around a sign-up sheet to take a month to schedule guest speakers.  If you’re not able to take a whole month, perhaps you could sign up with another person and work together.

Guests and prospective members brought to the meeting by Carol Lagarde were sisters Peggy Jones and Johnnie Mae Phillips.  These ladies will be voted on at the next board meeting.
At the meeting this week, Gerry gave a brief report on the festival, but will have a wrap up meeting of the Pepper Festival at a date to be announced soon.  She asked that each person who had a job or jobs for the festival, either that day or before, to please write down everything that you did so that we could have it as a reference.  Also, if you have any comments or suggestions, please write them down now so that we can discuss those at the meeting also.

In closing, I’d like to share an email from my friend Pat about the people in my Kiwanis Club:  “Again, let me say how very much I am in awe of you and the work that you do for those children. Sid and I talked about it on the way to Baton Rouge and that is what we were talking about.  They are damn lucky to have you working for them.”

PEPPER FESTIVAL PIX NEEDED!!!

If you have digital photos taken at this year's Pepper Festival that you'd care to share with the world, please email them to info@pepperfestival.org  Your webmaster is in the process of updating the Pepper Festival website in prep for the 2010 event and has created a photo gallery. Of course, there will be photo credit!!   Thanks, Marti
