THOUGHT/QUOTE OF THE WEEK:

Leadership is a potent combination of strategy and character.
But if you must be without one, be without the strategy.
                  — Gen. H. Norman Schwarzkopf

The Fifth Object of Kiwanis:   To provide, through Kiwanis clubs, a practical means to form enduring friendships, to render altruistic service, and to build better communities.

Kiwanis Education #5:    Kiwanis International conventions began when the Kiwanis Club of Cleveland invited representatives of other clubs to meet there in May 1916. At that time there were a total of 16 clubs with 1,924 members. A Kiwanis International convention has been conducted every year since then, except for limited conferences in 1943-45 due to wartime travel restrictions. Today, the usual attendance at an International convention is about 12,000.

THIS WEEK:  Margaret brought as guest speaker, Ms. Tracy LeMaire who is the Child Safety Coordinator of Region IV.  Ms. LeMaire gave us an extensive report on child safety restraints for all ages and which restraints are appropriate for which ages and sizes.  She is also willing to assist with our bike safety workshop this summer since helmet safety comes under her jurisdiction.

And the main thing  on the minds of most people is – “Who Dat?”  “Go, Saints!”  and Super Bowl history in the making!
