THIS WEEK:  We had a great informal installation Fish Fry at Ben and Jean Potier’s home last Sunday afternoon.  The baskets offered for the auction were great and we thank all who participated by bringing baskets and taking chances to win them also.  Thanks to Ben and Jean for their hospitality and the use of their home and to Ben and Dennis for frying the fish.  Great Job, Guys!

Peggy Hardy won the Millionaire Game drawing and was the proud recipient of a check for $250 real dollars!!

Pepper Festival is fast approaching and the signs are paving the way for a great festival.  Thanks to all who are getting the word out that we truly are the best little festival in the area!   Don’t forget to invite your family and friends to come out to support our festival.  We will have something for everyone and are expecting a record crowd.

The festival set up will begin at 6:30 on Sunday morning, the gates will open at 10:00 and close at 7:00.  Check our website or go to www.pepperfestival.org for the timeline of bands and pepper eating contest.

At our meeting this week, charter member Butch Blanchard was in attendance and indicated he may join our ranks again.  He hasn’t even signed on the dotted line and he’s already volunteered to work for the Pepper Festival.  Our kind of member!!!

If you don’t have an assignment for the festival, please call Dennis and Gerry 394-9396 to volunteer your time.

President’s Corner

I want to thank everyone present at our October 8th meeting and for the support you gave me on the proposed changes. I am looking forward to being your president this coming year.
Hopefully by next meeting or in the very near future, we will be going over the new rules for the “Fish to Fry” contest and the Golden Frying Pan award.
Our October 15th meeting will be devoted to finalize the Pepper Festival. Some of our publicity committee may be absent from the meeting in order to make publicity appearances.
