THOUGHT/QUOTE OF THE WEEK:

Practice the art of gratitude,
     the habit of thanksgiving,
       and the attitude of appreciation.
                  – William Arthur Ward

The First Object of Kiwanis:
To give primacy to the human and spiritual, rather than to the material values of life.

Kiwanis Education #27:

Monies received by Kiwanis clubs from fund-raising projects in which the public participates or from members or others for service activities sponsored by the club must be segregated from the administrative funds of the club and used only for the club’s service activities. Only the actual costs of the fund-raising activity can be charged to the service account. Nor can interest earned by the service account be transferred to the administrative account. All nonservice operating costs of the club must be charged to an administrative account, which is funded by member dues and fees.

THIS WEEK:

Our guest speaker was Kiwanian Jean Potier’s daughter, Nurse Practitioner Kayla P. Sonnier.  Very interesting information on the history of Nurse Practitioners and, of course, she answered all of our questions.  Kayla is employed at Kiwanian Dr. Daniel Wiltz’s office and deals with family practice.
Jean presented Dennis and I with a very nice token of appreciation for our chair of the Pepper Festival.  Thanks to all of you who made our job much easier.  A note to the volunteer for next year’s festival – the bribe is worthwhile!
Short bulletin this week.  Everyone is getting ready for Thanksgiving, Pictures with Santa, Foster Children Christmas Party AND ESPECIALLY …..
EVENING MEETING NEXT WEEK.  NO MORNING MEETING.  THERE WILL BE A BOARD MEETING AT THAT TIME.
Happy Thanksgiving to all and to all a good night – wait, am I mixing my salutations????
Anyway, you get the idea!  Blessings on all.
Please keep Marti's sister and her family in your special prayers. They are going through a very difficult time right now.
