THOUGHT/QUOTE OF THE WEEK:

 Be true to your work,
         your word, and your friend.
                         --Thoreau

The Fifth Object of Kiwanis:  To provide, through Kiwanis clubs, a practical means to form enduring friendships, to render altruistic service, and to build better communities.

Kiwanis Education #38:  Club bylaws provide that the club’s board of directors shall determine the policies and activities of the club, elect and discipline members, approve the budget and all bills, and have general management of the club. But the club board cannot bind future boards to a continuing policy or project. Committing the club to a project lasting more than one administrative year requires a two-thirds vote of the members at a designated club meeting.

THIS WEEK:

Frederick Wiltz, Principal at St. Martinville Jr. High was our guest speaker at the meeting.  I was impressed with Mr. Wiltz and his goals for the Jr. High School.  I’m sorry if you missed his presentation.  It was very interesting.  Thank you, Margaret Richard, for bringing Mr. Wiltz to our meeting.

Next week, Margaret has invited Christy LeBoeuf, artist, to speak to us.  Ms. LeBoeuf is hoping to bring art instruction to children and adults alike.

Cyndi DeCarlo was also a guest at our meeting.  She and her husband, Terry Dupuy, own the Teche Theater and Le Petit Paris Café.  I think Cyndi may be interested in joining our Kiwanis group.

Well, it’s official! Gerry won $30 from the lottery last week and received her money from Peggy at the meeting.  So the pot begins anew.

Election of officers will be coming up soon.  Please be thinking about which position you’d like to campaign for!  It would be awesome to have so many people interested that we needed a real election with voting and all …..

   IN MEMORIUM:
