THOUGHT/QUOTE OF THE WEEK:
   Good friends are like stars...
       You don't always see them,
but you know they are always there.
                            --Anonymous

The Fifth Object of Kiwanis:   To provide, through Kiwanis clubs, a practical means to form enduring friendships, to render altruistic service, and to build better communities.

Kiwanis Education #44 :  Senior membership is open to Kiwanians who have held active membership in one or more Kiwanis clubs for at least 10 years and no longer can meet regular attendance requirements due to health, business, or other extenuating circumstances. Senior members enjoy all the rights of membership, including serving as a club officer. However, since senior membership is granted because the member cannot meet regular attendance requirements, a senior member would not normally be a candidate for a club office.

THIS WEEK:

I’m not sure what the problem is – but we do have a problem.  Sparse attendance at the meeting this morning has me worried.  As your Lt. Gov. it is my job to cheerlead the clubs in my division.  And so here is my cheer:
                TWO BITS
                FOUR BITS
                SIX BITS
                A DOLLAR!
                ALL FOR KIWANIS
                STAND UP AND …
                                COME TO THE NEXT MEETING!

Speaking of our next meeting, Patsy Breaux, Ben’s lovely wife, will be our guest and she will talk to us about her work with the Alzheimer’s organization.  Please come to the meeting and hear Patsy and meet with your Kiwanis buddies.  Call a friend, bring a relative, fill the room.

Perhaps you have noticed how clean Cemetery Highway is these days.  Kudos to Larry Roy and his committee of volunteers who worked so diligently last weekend to clean our section of highway and to Sarah for the excellent breakfast afterward.

And also through your Kiwanis generosity, we planted Knock Out Roses at the entrances to the City.

Happy Easter to all!

Remember: We have a lot of fish to fry... in Kiwanis!
