THOUGHT/QUOTE OF THE WEEK:
Criticizing others is a dangerous thing,
not so much because you may make mistakes about them,
but because you may be revealing the truth about yourself.
                          — Harold Medina

The Second Object of Kiwanis:  To encourage the daily living of the Golden Rule in all human relationships.

Kiwanis Education #47:  The fifth Object of Kiwanis International is “To provide, through Kiwanis clubs, a practical means to form enduring friendships, to render altruistic service, and to build better communities.”

THIS WEEK:
Larry Roy has agreed to be President this coming year for our club.  He also proposed a great new project for our club:  K R I S – Kiwanians Reading In Schools.  We will explain more about this in the bulletin at a later date.
If anyone wants to run against Larry for President and make this a true election, please call Carol and submit your name. We are also in need of a vice president for next year.  Please consider this position for your club.  A list of prospective officers and board members will be posted in next week’s bulletin.
Plans and pre-project work are taking shape for Every Child A Swimmer which will begin on May 14 and run for 5 days with our kindergarten kids.  If you can donate some time for this project, please let Christine 394-5264 or Gerry 380-4300 know.  We will have a sign-up sheet at the next two meetings for you to get your time slot.  Volunteers are needed from 10:30 a.m to 3:00 p.m. daily.  Today (Friday) at 5:30 p.m. we are going to put the solar rings in the city pool to warm the water for the kids.  If you get your bulletin by fax or email, and would like to help, come on down to the city pool.
Peggy Hardy reported that we collected $76 dollars for the Skip-A-Meal project and we also donated a $25 Movie Gallery Card to the “After Prom Breakfast”.
If you have any business to bring before the board, please contact Dennis and give him that information.
Carol is in charge of guest speakers for the month of May.
