The Second Object of Kiwanis:  To encourage the daily living of the Golden Rule in all human relationships.

Kiwanis Education #19:  A “service project” is defined by Kiwanis International as “an activity, consistent with the Objects, objectives, and policies of Kiwanis International, which is devised or planned by a Kiwanis club or a club committee and performed by members of the club for the benefit of others.”

THIS WEEK:  Attention!  All Kiwanians!  You are invited to attend … our annual installation which will have a different look and feel this year.

Your presence is requested …
Our president Jean has worked really hard this year leading our club.  We’d like to honor her by celebrating her year with a FISH FRY at her house (she doesn’t even have to leave home) on October 5 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.  We are including two tickets in this mailing with your bulletin.  At this time we will officially retire your Kiwanis leaders – officers and board members – and install your new crew.  Please make every effort to attend.  President-designate Dennis LeBlanc is also encouraging everyone to bring prospective members and guests to this celebration.  We will have fried fish, potato salad, French bread and dessert.  You are asked to bring your good humor, your significant others and your own drinks.  Cost per person is $12.00.

If you need additional tickets to this spectacular event, please call Gerry @ 394-9396 or Dennis, at the same number.  Call us anyway, we need to know if you’re coming or not.  In order to buy the food, please contact us with your answer by Wednesday, October 1.

Jean’s home is located at 5827-A Main Hwy. in St. Martinville (on the way to Parks).

Of special interest for this occasion is our ever popular internal fundraiser – the silent auction.  Please be willing to participate by submitting a theme basket and coming ready to bid on items.  Two or more persons could get together to submit one basket.  Leslie Thibodeaux is in charge of this project – please call her and tell her what you’re bringing for the auction.  364-6793.

Our meeting this week was all about us … yes, and our upcoming Pepper Festival.  Next week will also be set aside for Pepper Festival business.  Please come if at all possible so that we can know all the things we still need to accomplish prior to the day.  Oh, by the way, only 5 gold stones left in the lottery.  I think you could win almost $100 if not more. If nothing else gets you to the meeting, that should!!!!!!!

Gerry brought a prospective member, Patti Boutte, to the meeting.  Patti works with the St. Martin Parish Family Court.  She hasn’t signed on the dotted line yet and she’s talking about who she can get to join with her.  That’s my kind of girl!  Welcome, Patti!  We look forward to working with you.
