THOUGHT/QUOTE OF THE WEEK:

WORRY NOT! Most of the stuff people worry about
probably is never going to happen anyway.  - Anonymous

The First Object of Kiwanis:  To encourage the daily living of the Golden Rule in all human relationships.

Kiwanis Education #57:  Kiwanis is not a “professional classification” organization. Any number of members from a particular business or profession can belong to a Kiwanis club. Of course, each club should strive to represent.

This Week:  I’m sorry if you missed the guest speaker this week because it was so interesting.  Brannan Beyt, Jr. (Bert to his friends) discussed his lifetime passion for ham radios.  He is an excellent instructor and was able to make even the electronically challenged appreciate and understand the workings of ham radio transmission.  The really interesting tidbit from Bert is that Jeff DeBlanc was his Jr. High Science teacher and his Boy Scout leader and that’s where the ham radio passion came into being.  Thank you, Carol Lagarde, for having Bert as your guest speaker!

Jean recognized those people who had perfect attendance in the past year:  Steve Comeaux, Annie Durand, Marti Harrell, Gerry LeBlanc, Jean Potier, and Larry Roy.  If you would like that distinction and think that it is impossible – there are ways to make up a meeting – either by attending one of our sponsored youth meetings or another Kiwanis Club’s weekly meeting.

Next Week –  Greeter:  Elaine St. Julien
                   Prayer:  Elaine St. Julien
                   Speaker Getter:  Carol Lagarde

President Jean is still asking for volunteers for committees, to greet at meetings, get guest speakers and also lead the prayer.  She is determined to have a house full of Millionaires and has been reported to be free with money.  Don’t you want to be a Millionaire this year?

Prayer Request:  Elaine’s husband, Ted, is in his own room now, but please continue to offer prayers  for his complete recovery and also for Elaine and her children.
