![]() THOUGHT/QUOTE OF THE WEEK: Keep your heart free from hate, your mind from worry. Live simply, expect little, do much. Fill your life with love, scatter sunshine, forget self, think of others and do as you would be done by. Try it for a week, you'll be surprised. --Anonymous |

The First Object of Kiwanis: To give primacy to the human and spiritual, rather than to the material values of life. Kiwanis Education #56: Each club secretary annually receives the Kiwanis International Directory, listing every Kiwanis club in the world, its time and place of meeting, and its president and secretary. Much of this information also is available on-line at kiwanis.org/locator.html. Each secretary also receives the Kiwanis International Supplies Catalog, which includes all Kiwanis-related supplies and merchandise available for sale to clubs and individuals. This Week: Gerry LeBlanc was guest speaker this morning and her program was FYI. She spoke about importance of exercising our brains, having an exit plan in case of fires, and an update on the courthouse renovations. Good input from the members on all topics! Kim Champagne and Lloyd Babineaux of the Broussard/Youngsville Kiwanis Club were guests this morning. They advised of the Shrimp Boil to be held on Sunday, November 4 at Regions Bank parking lot in Broussard. Cost is $12 per serving which includes one pound of headless jumbo shrimp, potato and corn. You may call Kim Champagne at 781-1336 to purchase tickets to help our neighboring Kiwanis Club with their fundraiser. Pepper Festival has come and gone and we can be proud of our efforts once again. With everyone’s assistance and cooperation, we were once again able to conduct a successful festival. Thank you, Lord, for the wonderful weather also for the people willing to do their part by coming out to the festival and spending a little money. Preliminary reports of profits are $7,000 - $8,000. Kudos to all involved. And special thanks to Chair Larry Roy and Jean Potier for all their hard work. Marti and Carol will be in charge of program next meeting and will present new member orientation. Marti is also the greeter for that meeting.
President Jean is still
asking for volunteers for committees, to greet at meetings, get guest
speakers and also lead the prayer. She is determined to have a house full
of Millionaires and has been reported to be free with money. Don’t you
want to be a Millionaire this year?
IT’S A BOY! Congratulations to Leslie and Ricky Thibodeaux on the birth of their first grandchild – Lucas Jude Thibodeaux born to Heath and Terry Thibodeaux on Kiwanis Wednesday at 12:17 a.m. weighing in at 7 pounds 9-1/2 ounces and 20-1/2 inches long. All are doing well in Houston. |
