THOUGHT/QUOTE OF THE WEEK:
When we do the best that we can, we never know what miracle is wrought in our life, or in the life of another. - Helen Keller

The Sixth Object of Kiwanis:  To cooperate in creating and maintaining that sound public opinion and high idealism, which make possible the increase of righteousness, justice, patriotism, and goodwill.

Kiwanis Education #54:

An inter-club meeting is one which is jointly planned and held by two or more Kiwanis clubs, or by a Kiwanis club and any Kiwanis Junior, Circle K club, Key Club, Builders Club, K-Kids, and/or Aktion Club and duly announced as such in advance through club notices. No less than a visiting group of four, composed of Kiwanians or a minimum of two Kiwanians plus members of a Circle K club, Key Club, and/or Builders Club sponsored by the visiting Kiwanis club, must be in attendance. To qualify for inter- club credit, the meeting must be an official meeting of the host club. Conventions, division council meetings, and similar events do not normally qualify.

This Week:
President Elect, Dennis LeBlanc led the meeting today (and did a great job).  Jean was otherwise occupied with  being a TV personality and distributing PF tee shirts, etc.

Larry had one final run through the list of job duties for the PEPPER FESTIVAL.  The  first gathering of workers will be on Friday, October 19 to get the barricades ready to put in place.  Set up on Sunday will begin at 6:30 a.m.  There are still quite a few preparatory jobs to be done, but everything seems to be coming together.

CALLING ALL KIWANIANS – whether you are unable to attend meetings or always attend, this is the time to step up and help with the Pepper Festival.  This is a great opportunity for all of us to get together and share what Kiwanis is all about – fun, volunteerism, camaraderie and did I mention FUN?

President Jean is also asking for volunteers for committees, to greet at meetings, get guest speakers and also lead the prayer.  She is determined to have a house full of Millionaires and has been reported to be free with money.  Don’t you want to be a Millionaire this year?

Prayer Request:
  Elaine’s husband is in ICU.
Please take a moment and pray for his recovery
and Elaine and her family.
