The Third Object of Kiwanis: To promote the adoption and the application of higher social, business, and professional standards.

Kiwanis Education #70:  Aktion clubs are Kiwanis international’s newest sponsored program, officially adopted in 2000.  Aktion club is a service club for youth and adults with disabilities, who elect officers, raise funds, and choose and conduct community-service projects with guidance from their Kiwanis sponsors. More than 300 Aktion clubs are now providing their members with leadership and service opportunities.

This WeekWe’ve been meaning to wish our fellow Kiwanian Edna Landry a big congrats!
on being named “Teacher of the Year” at Trinity Catholic School.  We are proud of you and
know that you are very deserving of the award.
Edna is very active in Kiwanis by mentoring the Builders Club at Trinity. Thank
you, Edna.

Kiwanis One Day is coming up on April 5 and we are asking for volunteers for this project.  Our goal is to refurbish the flower beds at each highway entrance sign and at the Magnolia Park entrance.  This project will be done in conjunction with our Key Club members and Builders Club members.  We will meet at Magnolia Park at 8:30 a.m. and disburse to the various project sites from there.  Please make every effort to assist in this project.

Thank you, Marti, for bringing Mr. Mike Tarantino to our meeting this week.  Mike is the Executive Director of IDF and is working closely with the other directors of industrial development in Acadiana to bring jobs and employers together. Their greatest accomplishment is www.jobsinsouthlouisiana.com  - a website geared at attracting young people to work in our area.  Check out the website and see for yourself what’s going on.

Again, we wish to take this opportunity to wish all of our fellow Kiwanians a Happy and Holy Easter.  Please note that two of your bulletin editors will be out of pocket next week and so you will not have a bulletin.  But, you WILL have a Kiwanis meeting and a Kiwanis board meeting next week.

IMPORTANT NOTICE:
                       The Annual Meeting
of the Kiwanis Club of St. Martinville
will be held on April 9.
              The purpose of this meeting
is to elect officers for the coming year.
Please make every effort to attend this meeting.
