**IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT:
The Board meeting has been rescheduled
to March 27 due to Holy Week.

This Week Spring is in the air!  I can hardly keep my mind on things indoors when outdoors is beginning to put on its annual display.  Can you tell that I’m excited about the change of season (even if I’m still grumbling about the adjustment to the change of time)?  The season of renewal and rebirth makes us ready to take on the tasks before us in our Kiwanis club.  Are you ready to roll up your sleeves and begin anew?  President Elect Dennis will formulate his team for the coming year and will be asking members to make a commitment to our club.  Please be receptive to his queries!

Our meeting this week was great!  Parish President, Kiwanian Guy Cormier was our guest speaker and gave us some interesting information about the pulse of the parish.  It is always great when Guy is able to spend time with us – giving us information and answering our numerous questions.  Be on the lookout for a meeting (probably an evening meeting) which Guy will host in May at the Cade Community Center.  Those of you who are not able to attend morning meetings as easily … this one’s for you!!!

Kiwanis One Day is set aside for the Kiwanis Family to do some service project as a united force.  St. Martinville Kiwanis, Key Club and Builders Club will be participating in this endeavor by cleaning and replanting the flowerbeds at each entrance to St. Martinville and the entrance to Magnolia Park.  Our plan is to ask Mayor Nelson to declare April 5 as Kiwanis One Day, have a photo op with the Mayor and members of all three clubs to be submitted to Teche News to run the Wednesday prior to April 5.  All of this landscaping is done in conjunction with the Cleanest City Contest which is being judged on April 9.
