The Third Object of Kiwanis:  To promote the adoption and the application of higher social, business, and professional standards.

Kiwanis Education #07:  Kiwanis International’s continuing service focus is called “Young Children: Priority One.” This program seeks to serve the special needs of young children from prenatal development to age 5 in four areas: maternal and child health; childcare and development; parent education and support; and safety programs and pediatric trauma care.

THIS WEEK:  We thought we were going to have an emotion test given by Jean this week at the meeting, but Dennis rescued us by having an excellent show and tell program sponsored by the Sheriff’s Office.  We toured the new building which will house the supplies for the jail, sheriff’s office and also the evidence that is brought in on each case.  Thanks to Dennis and Ivy Perioux for the tour and great information and also to Judge Paul for his input and explanations about evidence and the laws governing the keeping of evidence.

**Jean has arranged for us to have a potluck social at Maison de Tours on July 23rd instead of a morning meeting.  Keep checking your bulletin for more details as they become available.

Our fellow Kiwanian from Starkville, MS, Jan Peacock, is visiting with me this weekend.  If you would like to visit with Jan, give us a call.

We have great speakers lined up for the next few weeks.  Please consider inviting prospective members to one or more of these upcoming events!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, AMERICA!  As Al Maytag always wrote on his washing machines for many years – “Don’t drink a 5th on the 4th!”

A Note from Your Webmaster:  My apologies for the delay in posting the bulletin this week.... we're in the process of a local move and my computer at home has been down/un re-connected since Thursday.  Things should be back to normal by the end of this week.  (Gosh, I hope!)  Thanks for understanding!  See y'all soon, Marti
