The Second Object of Kiwanis: To encourage the daily living of the Golden Rule in all human relationships.

Kiwanis Education #62:  Kiwanis International does not “grade” club reports or award points for specific club activities. Grading plans are administered by districts to promote club excellence. Questions or proposals regarding district grading plans should be directed to the district secretary or your division’s lieutenant governor, who is also a member of the district board. Kiwanis International does analyze annual club reports to obtain important statistical information about Kiwanis membership and service and to select clubs for special awards.

This Week:  We have dry spells where nothing is going on in Kiwanis and then we have deluge whereby everyone is scrambling to keep up with all there is to attend in Kiwanis.  Raingear is the mode right now –

Regional Summit a.k.a. Mid Winter Conference – will be held this Saturday in Lafayette – even if you didn’t pre-register, we can beg them to let you in.  Please make every effort to attend this learning experience.  It makes Kiwanis so much more fun and interesting if you attend these workshops.  It is also our Governor’s official visit to our area and we look forward to visiting with Gov. David Pickler.  We will also be having a Division Council meeting at the Regional Summit.

On Sunday is our annual Kiwanis Family Day which will be held at Clambeaugh’s from 10:30 to 12:30 for only $5 per person.  You will have received a call from the phone committee about this important event.

Superbowl party will be held at Gerry and Dennis’ house on February 3 (whatever that Sunday is).  Dennis will not be in attendance (he has to work the parade) but Gerry is cooking.  The squares will be at the upcoming meetings so that you make take chances.

At the meeting last week, brags were hot and heavy about deer, children’s houses being purchased, new jobs and Polish roommates.  Lottery jackpot is very large these days so it would be a good time to start gambling.

Be thinking about summer Kiwanis functions which include International Convention in Orlando at the end of June and District Convention in Memphis at the beginning of August.  Jean will be asking for commitments.

Our program was awesome.  Steve Comeaux has outdone himself yet again on video production of our foster children Christmas Party.  Thanks, Steve, for the great program.

In brief:   Marti’s brother is doing very well, thank you for the prayers.  Jean and Ben are proud grandparents of a grandson born on Jan. 21 weighing in at 8 pounds.  Benjie and Marguerite and baby are doing well.
