The Sixth Object of Kiwanis: To cooperate in creating and maintaining that sound public opinion and high idealism, which make possible the increase of righteousness, justice, patriotism, and goodwill. Kiwanis Education #66: Club bylaws set a limit of 90 minutes for a club meeting, from the time when the meeting is called to order until it is adjourned. Clubs are required to conduct meetings at least twice per month. To receive attendance credit, a member must be present for at least 60 percent of a meeting.
This Week:
Thank you, Dennis
LeBlanc, for bringing Tim and Katy Kirkpatrick to our meeting to speak
with us this week. Tim and Katy, along with Our Savior’s Church, have
opened the Hope Center on South Main St., with an emphasis on helping
elderly and young people. The center has a food pantry, tutoring for kids
and a health and dental clinic. Two young people who care about what
happens to the people of St. Martinville.
Reminder: There is the possibility of attending a board meeting at Gerry and Dennis’ house (2-21) at 7:00 p.m. Peggy Hardy is the hostess. Are you interested in participating in a cruise and learning more about Kiwanis at the same time? The 2009 Kiwanis District Convention will cruise out of New Orleans. The 2008 District Convention will be in Memphis. And the 2008 International Convention will be in Orlando. Do any of these events seem like something you’d like to do? Contact Jean Potier for more information on any of the above. |
