THOUGHT/QUOTE OF THE WEEK: We are more than what we do, much more than what we accomplish, and far more than what we possess. ----William Arthur Ward |

The Third Object of Kiwanis: To promote the adoption and the application of higher social, business, and professional standards. Kiwanis Education: #39: The International Council consists of the International Board of Trustees, the Past International Presidents, the President of the European Federation, Kiwanis Asia-Pacific Chairman, and the district governors. The Council can enact or amend International Bylaws by a two-thirds vote. Such amendments remain in force unless rescinded at the following International convention. THIS WEEK: Peggy is up to her ears in end of the fiscal year work so Im pitch-hitting for her this week. Thanks to Melba Braud for bringing Mr. Richard Lavergne, our new superintendent of schools as the guest speaker. WOW! So sorry for those of you who missed him. I look forward to the positive energy and commitment he will bring to our school system. We have received our patches for our Honors Banner from last years very successful reporting of the things we do for Kiwanis. Annie was presented with a Distinguished Secretary pin for her diligent reporting and prompt attention to her duties. Congrats! Annie. Peggy has shared with me that someone must have half a dollar in their wallet or pocket it seems that a torn dollar was used to brag Wednesday. On the bragging subject we would be remiss if we did not state the thrice bragged upon Ryan St. Julien who has a verbal agreement to play football with LSU after he gets out of high school. Congrats to him and his parents, Ted and Elaine. It is always important to keep current with our dues to our club. If you cannot remember, just put $11 in the mail to Kiwanis every time you pay your electric bill. That should be an easy way to keep up and so much smaller an amount than that darn electric bill. |
