THOUGHT/QUOTE OF THE WEEK: The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched. They must be felt with the heart. – Hellen Keller | |

The Fourth
Object of Kiwanis:
To develop, by precept and example, a more intelligent,
aggressive, and serviceable citizenship.
THIS WEEK: Our guest this week
was Edna Landry, Advisor to the TCES Builders Club. Gerry had to be out
of the meeting room for a few moments and heard our singing of “God Bless
America” and swelled our heads with how nice we sounded (from afar).
Someone said that maybe we should form a glee club. You just never
know. Gerry also had a chance at lottery, and won her dollar
back. Brag/complain jar was in demand this week. Edna Landry asked about
having a training session combined with a field trip at the pool for the
Trinity Builders Club whose help in very much needed for this project.
This will be on the agenda for the Board Meeting on April 19th. TODAY'S PROGRAM: Christine was our speaker today and of course spoke about Every Child a Swimmer. It is, of course, through her efforts and research that we even have this worthwhile project in our community today. She said that we would be losing a couple of our regular instructors, so if anyone can help in that area, please contact her. The dates are listed in Calendar of Events, and she is also in need of just “plain” helpers. If you can spare some time, please call her @ 394-5264 to volunteer. |
